The Accounting and Finance Operations Manager is a newly designed position that will elevate our accounting practices while digitizing systems. This position offers a blend of responsibilities in support of our small team and our mission to educate ethical, entrepreneurial leaders that will help build a flourishing Africa.

Ideal candidates will not just be doers, but also innovative thinkers who can figure out what needs to be done and how to get there. We’re seeking an organized, results focused professional who can think strategically and execute operationally; deftly balancing independent work and team collaboration to reach the best outcomes.

Among other things, here’s what you’ll be doing:

· Exciting projects like transitioning to QuickBooks online, optimizing our BambooHR payroll system, and streamlining finance and accounting processes.

· Partner with the VP to develop and monitor the organization’s budget.

· Handle soup to nuts accounting and payroll processing.

· Collaborate with our VP and external partners on the annual audit.

· Lead financial reporting and analysis activities.

· Handle grant management, reporting, and compliance.

· Collaborate with global accounting and finance colleagues representing Ashesi University and other entities.

· Partner with VP to set Board agendas and support Board meetings and activities.

· Oversee IT infrastructure and IT volunteer to ensure best practices are in place.

· Administer insurance, licensing, and benefits.

· Directly supervise Administrative Associate; delegating and empowering them to help you meet deadlines, deliverables and organizational needs.

Ideal qualifications we seek in a candidate:

· Solid knowledge of GAAP.

· Degree and related accounting and finance experience in the nonprofit environment.

· Grant management experience.

· Ability to effectively convey information orally and in writing in a clear, succinct way and in a variety of communication settings and styles.

· Technically savvy, with a strong working knowledge of QB Online and the ability to quickly learn and utilize HRIS/payroll and other systems.

The details:

· This is a full-time position with some flexibility around scheduling.

· The full pay range for the position is currently $90,000 - $110,000. Newly hired employees are typically paid lower in the pay range, with opportunities to advance over time.

· Ashesi University Foundation is in Seattle where this position is based. This is a hybrid role, with time split between our downtown Seattle office and your remote location. Highly qualified candidates based in other states and who can occasionally travel to Seattle may be considered.

· We currently offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match. Paid parking is provided when working from our downtown office location. Full time new hires receive 10 days of paid vacation, 11 paid holidays, 1 paid personal day, and paid sick leave.
