Role Overview

The Chief Credit Officer (CCO) manages credit policies as well as portfolio & investment risks. The ideal applicant will have experience with successful asset investments & in overseeing credit in mission-driven financial organizations. The CCO will be taking on a key leadership role, working alongside other C-Suite executives to carry out the client’s initiatives & execute their goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess & evaluate new deals to ensure compliance with credit standards, following the guidelines outlined in the policies & procedures
  • Contribute to presenting deals to key stakeholders
  • Oversee the underwriting team to ensure precise analysis & provide support when necessary
  • Direct the portfolio management team, overseeing loan performance & allocation of loan loss reserves, among other duties
  • Monitor credit & industry exposure, as well as compliance
  • Collaborate with executives on credit-related decisions
  • Review all loan agreements prior to their approval by other stakeholders & executives
  • Support with negotiations with borrowers & other parties
  • Prepare documents such as reports
  • Suggest updates to keep credit policies relevant
  • Analyze portfolio risk on a quarterly basis

Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced degree in related field
  • Experience in areas such as investment management, commercial banking or credit management, or other relevant area
  • Management experience
  • Deep understanding of credit, financial management, budgeting, & general accounting practices
  • Familiarity with real estate finance & loan processing is ideal
  • Strong ability to build strategic partnerships, effectively utilizing resources
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial setting
  • Experience overseeing the financial operations of an organization &/or managing large-scale programs
  • Proficient in a range of software tools, including Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Highly organized & driven
