POSITION: VM MANAGER, MEN’S NORTHEAST

Job Purpose

The Visual Merchandising Manager, Men’s Northeast, is responsible for driving the consistency and quality of visual merchandising implementation throughout the region. This creative leader will work in close relationship with corporate teams to elevate and maintain Dior image standards to enhance both the business and the Client experience.

Tasks And Responsibilities

OPERATIONAL

  • Uphold visual brand standards according to global directive, with immaculate attention to detail and a keen aesthetic.
  • Manage monthly rotations and new window displays throughout Northeast stores.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative post-rotational feedback to the US Corporate VM team, acting as a key informant on in-store execution.
  • Lead by example with demonstrative curiosity and passion for being in the field.
  • Participate as an integral team member for store openings and/or special events.
  • In partnership with Regional Operations Managers and local VM teams, oversee and organize props inventory.
  • Responsible for managing VM execution across Northeast-area Men’s stores: Boston, Troy Somerset, and Chicago; in addition to supporting NYC-area stores as needed.

STRATEGIC

  • Collaborate with Retail and Merchandising teams to ensure local visual requirements are met.
  • When appropriate, adapt display based on the store’s requirements and architecture, considering local needs and business trends.
  • Foster a vibrant VM community by actively participating in relevant communication platforms, and cultivating a culture of excellence.
  • Uphold the VM culture within the organization through training and dissemination of visual merchandising expertise.

Job responsibilities

MANAGERIAL

  • Oversee the execution of Visual Merchandising strategies and rotations via dotted-line management of VM specialists throughout the Northeast region.
  • Support local VMs via seasonal product rotation and technical trainings.
  • Coordinate regional visits with Retail and VM teams, demonstrating the highest level of professionalism and accountability.
  • Manage visit schedules regularly, exercising detailed and frequent communication when and where changes occur based on business needs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • High-level people management skills; able to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts (both interpersonal and logistical), drive team success in a diverse and fast-paced retail environment.

Requirements

  • Education in visual arts, interior design, architecture, fashion, and/or similar business-related arts, or demonstrated professional equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of Visual Display and Merchandising experience in a luxury or specialty retail environment.
  • Hands-on work style, passion for doing VM.
  • Strong visual/spatial awareness and manual dexterity.
  • Strong creative skillset with focus on styling and in-store product display.
  • Ability to translate Global guidelines to local store windows and environments.
  • Ability to communicate strategically across all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptable, agile, business-focused and deadline-oriented.
  • Strong follow through skills.
  • Ability to follow the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of the Dior brand image.
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 50%.

Additional information

The selected candidate will be offered a salary within the range of $90,000 - $105,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility. The salary offered will be dependent upon the candidate’s relevant skills and experience.
