Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a self-driven Tooling Engineer Lead with a strong background in mold design and plastic forming technologies. This role involves overseeing the mold development, procurement, and validation processes while leveraging innovative technologies to optimize mold production and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tooling strategies to support production.
  • Manage new tool construction projects and the tooling repair department.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design, develop, and implement efficient tooling systems.
  • Ensure the documentation and performance tracking for all tooling processes.
  • Research and recommend new technologies for mold repair, maintenance, and construction.
  • Collaborate with vendors and ensure mold quality and reliability.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects and process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the injection molding industry with a focus on tool design.
  • 10+ years in supervisory and management roles.
  • Direct experience in mold design and construction is required.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling software and the ability to interpret Moldflow analyses.
  • Experience with cold and hot runner manifold systems.
  • Knowledge of various mold materials, metals, and plastic manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
