Job Title: SAP Utilities BPC-SAC Planning Consultant

Job Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)

Job Purpose

The SAP Utilities BPC-SAC Planning Consultant will be responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of financial planning and analytics solutions using SAP BPC and SAC. This role will focus on supporting the financial planning processes, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for clients in the utilities industry. The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives and industry-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement SAP BPC and SAC solutions to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes for utility companies.
  • Customize planning models and integrate them with core SAP ERP and IS-U (SAP for Utilities).
  • Develop dashboards and reports in SAC for end-user analysis and decision-making.
  • Work closely with clients to gather requirements, document business processes, and map these to SAP BPC and SAC functionalities.
  • Conduct workshops to identify client needs and translate them into actionable SAP planning solutions.
  • Lead the design and configuration of financial planning models, including revenue, capital, and OPEX planning.
  • Integrate SAP BPC and SAC with other financial systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and optimize forecast models for cash flow, P&L, balance sheets, and other financial statements.
  • Perform data integration between SAP BPC, SAC, and other data sources.
  • Ensure seamless integration with SAP HANA, BW, and other analytics platforms.
  • Ensure real-time data synchronization between the planning models and transactional systems (ERP and IS-U).
  • Provide leadership for project planning, execution, and delivery of SAP BPC/SAC solutions.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects, from inception through post-implementation support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, IT, and other departments, to deliver solutions on time and within budget.
  • Provide user training and ongoing support for end-users on the functionality of BPC and SAC.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in live SAP BPC/SAC environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in SAP BPC (Business Planning & Consolidation) with experience in configuration and deployment.
  • Proficiency in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), including model creation, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Experience with SAP IS-U (Utilities) module, understanding of the utilities sector processes (billing, metering, etc.).
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP, particularly in FI/CO (Finance and Controlling), is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data modeling and data integration tools within SAP landscapes (SAP HANA, BW, etc.).

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • SAP Certification in BPC and/or SAC is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori or S/4HANA is advantageous.

Preferred Experience:

  • 8+ years of SAP BPC experience, with at least 2 years working in the utilities industry.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) in financial planning and reporting projects.

Previous experience with large-scale SAP implementation projects in the utilities sector.
