About The Company

Founded by Shana Draugelis in 2008, The Mom Edit is a fast-growing, online media company with a number of hybrid positions available.

Based in Philadelphia, The Mom Edit team works closely with contributing authors all over the US to develop exciting content for our audience. We’re ‘style experimenters’ with a playful, authentic, and (sometimes) fearless take on all things fashion, momming, travel, beauty and home…and we’ll spend hours searching for the best pair of jeans. (Blogging’s not nearly as glamorous as it looks, trust us.)

Do we sound like a good fit? If so, we are always in search of kind, creative & hard-working people to join our team!

About The Role

The Mom Edit is currently seeking a full-time graphic designer with an appreciation for personal style and an eye for compelling, digital collages. This role will work closely with our Lead Graphic Designer and Chief Operating Officer to ensure proper communication of The Mom Edit brand through designs shared on various platforms.

A strong background in graphic design is needed to perform this job. A general understanding of The Mom Edit and our styles is a must - both our type of fashion (casual, mostly) and individual voices. Must be proficient in navigating through the online shopping world, be design-minded, and have a great sense of style (just for research and round-up purposes). This job is fun, but often grueling, so someone who is hard-working and detail-oriented, yet has a cheerful, positive attitude, and a willingness to jump in and work hard is the best fit. Ideal (but not necessary) would be someone who has experience in photography.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lead Graphic Designer and other team members on best practices for blog post featured images, collages, social graphics (including Pinterest pins), email graphics and more
  • Help ideate and execute a number of quarterly projects to support brand awareness and growth (newsletter campaigns, guides, ad graphics, holiday graphics, etc.)
  • Routinely propose new graphics initiatives
  • Attend regular team content planning meetings
  • Read and respond to notifications multiple times a day
  • Manage the design and uploading process of all project material

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator programs
  • Familiar with layout & graphic fundamentals of font & imagery
  • Able to translate strategic direction into design within an established brand identity
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative and design-minded
  • Organized and efficient
  • Self-starter and solution seeker
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
