About The Opportunity

The Business Intelligence Manager will lead a team of analysts, manage the analytics lifecycle, and drive Avel’s business intelligence strategy and roadmap. You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing modern data solutions, building dashboards, and developing actionable insights to support cross-functional teams across operations, IT, finance, and product.

This role requires technical expertise in ETL processes, data modeling, and visualization tools, along with supervisory experience and a passion for collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • BI Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain Avel’s business intelligence strategy, forecasting future needs, and aligning with business priorities.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, plan, and assign tasks to analytics team members, track performance, and support their professional growth.
  • Data Management: Oversee the company’s data repository and warehouse strategy, ensuring efficiency, security, and data integrity.
  • Report Development: Build user-friendly reports and dashboards (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau) to provide insights while balancing security and accessibility.
  • Collaboration: Partner with business units and stakeholders to identify BI needs and translate them into actionable projects.
  • Data Modeling: Design scalable data models and write advanced queries (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, Python) to optimize reporting solutions.
  • Analytics Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end analytics process, including project intake, sprint cycles, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Agile Project Management: Implement Agile methodologies for project delivery cycles, prioritizing requests, and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Data Governance: Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and other data regulations by following best practices and change management protocols

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related discipline).
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in data modeling, reporting, and visualization tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau).
    • Proficiency in T-SQL, PostgreSQL, PySpark/Python, and advanced Excel.
  • Competencies:
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills for multi-level audiences.
