Job Overview:
As a Solutions Architect, you will be a key contributor to both new development projects and the ongoing support of existing systems, serving as a domain expert in technology. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams to analyze business requirements, identify technical needs, and design innovative solutions that can be developed and supported in production. You'll work with enterprise architecture to ensure new solutions are aligned with company standards, enhance system performance, and address future business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation and design of technology solutions to meet business needs, considering scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Document current and future state architectures and create strategies and roadmaps for the domain (0-18 months), while contributing to longer-term (18-60 months) enterprise strategy and standards.
  • Collaborate with product teams, business system analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements, assess potential risks, and ensure timely solution delivery.
  • Research and identify technologies that fit within the organizations constraints and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Produce UML diagrams, business process models, and other technical documentation to communicate solutions to stakeholders.
  • Lead proof-of-concept and prototype efforts, and present technical solutions to stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Oversee the deployment and support of production-ready solutions, ensuring they meet defined specifications and can be effectively maintained.
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert, facilitating communication between IT workgroups and business stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to the overall knowledge sharing of best practices within the organization.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with SOA, microservices, and cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficiency in middleware integration platforms and J2EE application servers such as WebSphere, JBoss, and Tomcat.
  • Expertise in Kafka, messaging services (JMS), and web services technologies (SOAP, REST).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Kubernetes, OpenShift), and cloud-native principles (12-Factor App).
  • Working knowledge of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Experience with IT service management processes like Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control systems (Git, Jira).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing tools and relational data structures is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6-8 years of experience in IT, specifically in programming, systems analysis, or engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience with SOA, integration technologies, and enterprise application deployments.
