Job Description

Client is seeking a Technical Writer to create technical product documentation for end-users of the Texas Air Emissions Repository (TexAER) database. The ideal candidate will have experience developing end-user documentation for complex applications, working closely with technical staff, and producing tutorials, guides, and reference materials.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with TCEQ staff to create detailed technical documentation for the TexAER database.
  • Develop, outline, and format program and end-user documents, including tutorials, user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and reference materials.
  • Incorporate feedback from staff and users to revise and improve documentation.
  • Produce video tutorials that meet TCEQ, DIR, and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members of various technical skill levels, providing technical support and testing.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in web page user interface design and developing end-user documentation for complex relational database applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate with individuals at different technical levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and their integration with end-user business processes.
  • Expertise in preparing technical documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data for documentation purposes.
