We are looking for a Production Manager and Editor, responsible for developing and editing materials and managing a production pipeline. This individual is comfortable managing multiple efforts across various subject matter areas and stakeholders and is ready to join a collaborative team and collegial organization. Extensive writing samples and/or an editing test are required for consideration.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $50 - $60 / hr. w2


Responsibilities:
  • Guide the development of Insights products across the team.
  • Edit and proofread materials and publications written by others.
  • Produce informative and compelling content for IQT Insights across the product suite.
  • Write clearly and succinctly for technology-focused readers/viewers as well as general audiences.
  • Propose ideas to develop and improve products, papers, and resources for stakeholders.
  • Leverage strong communication, interpersonal, and managerial skills to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Manage the production pipeline, leveraging a balance of planned and ad hoc content.
  • Coordinate the annual production plan and focus areas and adjust plans and priorities on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide coaching and training to improve the analytic and writing skills of IQT staff as needed.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience.
  • 5+ years of editing experience, particularly for government readers.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools.
  • Experience in creating materials for audiences with different levels of technology understanding.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong drive for results.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to analyze problems and create a solution.
  • Knowledge about the national security and defense communities as well as the tech startup community and ecosystem preferred.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or English, journalism, or communications or equivalent experience

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
