Position Title: IoT Associate Architect

Location: Hybrid role (Candidates MUST be local to Phoenix, AZ, and able to travel to Phoenix and various sites periodically for meetings. International travel may occur once transitioned to full-time employment.)

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Contract Period: 6 months

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Rate Range: $75/hr to $90/hr

Conversion to Direct Hire: Generous Salary, Bonus, Excellent Benefits, and 401K upon conversion to permanent employment

Job Description:

Our client, a leading international mining company focused on responsibly producing essential minerals such as copper, gold, and molybdenum, is seeking a skilled IoT Associate Architect. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of how the client captures and utilizes process information to deliver value and solve complex challenges. Youll be working with cutting-edge IoT technology and helping to develop and manage applications that integrate with physical security systems, including cameras, badging, and weather monitoring systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C# and JavaScript to assist with architecting and developing application-side solutions for these systems. We are looking for someone who enjoys both hardware and software, with a knack for problem-solving and figuring out new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of IoT solutions, focusing on applications managing physical security systems (cameras, badge readers, weather systems).
  • Collaborate with IT teams, cross-functional leadership, external vendors, business analysts, customers, and key business users to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Provide technical expertise in C# and JavaScript to architect and develop application-side solutions.
  • Manage the integration and handling of IoT data through systems like AVEVA PI and communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT.
  • Support the transition of responsibilities from the current architect, who will be retiring in 2025.

  • Solving and Analytical Thinking: Ability to diagnose issues and create innovative solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge in C# and JavaScript for application-side development in IoT systems.
  • IoT Applications & Integration: Experience with IoT deployments and integrating various systems, such as cameras, badging, and weather monitoring systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with AVEVA PI System
  • Familiarity with Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT communication protocols
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure IoT solutions
  • Expertise in IoT Applications and Data Management
  • Experience with physical security systems (though not essential)
