We're looking for

A Security Specialist with at least two years of relevant experience to join our on-site team at BAMC in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing personnel security clearances, conducting investigations, and implementing security protocols. Experience with military security procedures and systems such as DISS, NBIS, and APACS is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in using security systems such as DISS, NBIS, and APACS (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
The Expectations

30 Days:

  • Onboarding and training completion
  • Familiarization with BAMC security systems and protocols
  • Shadowing experienced personnel and assisting with basic security tasks
  • Building relationships with team members and key personnel

60 Days:

  • Independently managing personnel security clearances and conducting preliminary investigations
  • Processing SIPRNET account requests and assisting with COMSEC duties
  • Conducting security briefings for SRP and travel
  • Actively participating in security team meetings and projects

90 Days:

  • Efficiently managing a full workload of personnel security cases and investigations
  • Proactively addressing information security issues and implementing solutions
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for SRP and travel security matters
  • Taking initiative in security projects and mentoring junior team members
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Security Manager in various security program functions
  • Maintain access rosters and personnel security clearance files
  • Initiate and prepare documents for security clearance investigations
  • Validate personnel security clearances through DISS
  • Track and review clearance requests and periodic reinvestigations
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and make recommendations on derogatory information
  • Prepare security clearance documents in accordance with AR 380-67
  • Initiate background investigations through NBIS
  • Schedule fingerprint appointments and capture fingerprints for personnel
  • Serve as the primary representative for the Soldier Readiness Program (SRP)
  • Conduct security briefings and debriefings on foreign travel
  • Input travel request information in APACS for clearance requests
  • Maintain statistics related to clearances and derogatory personnel
  • Process SIPRNET account requests and troubleshoot system issues
  • Assist with COMSEC duties and maintain accountability for COMSEC material
  • Process BAMC System Authorization Access request forms
  • Conduct various security briefings for incoming and outgoing personnel
  • Perform local record checks and process LAN access clearance forms
  • Coordinate with overseas countries to obtain Theater/Country Clearance for travelers
  • Prepare OCONUS travel packages for personnel
Additional Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship; dual citizenship is not permitted
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
