About The Position
The Innocence Project recognises the immense power of strategic communications to advance legal and policy reform and, more specifically, the importance of exoneration stories to further the work of preventing wrongful convictions and achieving criminal legal system reform.
The primary focus of this internship is to support the communications team with building, implementing and maintaining effective design systems that promote brand consistency across print, digital and video projects. The Multimedia Creative Intern will report to the Creative Lead.
This position will be a 10-week paid internship with a minimum requirement of 16 hours per week beginning in February 2025. The timeframe and schedule are flexible. The internship will be hybrid with at least one day per week in the office.

Essential Job Functions
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the day-to-day production of graphics for our social platforms, editorial blogs, and other sites of digital storytelling
- Lead the charge in organizing, archiving, and managing the storage of photos, videos and design assets for the Communications team
- Assisting with the design of decks, invitations, newsletters and other graphics for internal communications
- Assisting the Creative Lead and Creative Assistant with the coordination and production of video and photo shoots
- Demonstrated experience in providing organized, administrative support in dynamic creative or production environments
- Demonstrated proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign and/or Figma (Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere is a major plus, but not required.)
- Experience or interest in designing decks, presentations, style guides or moodboards
- General understanding of how to design and modify documents for print
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and adherence to deadlines
- Eagle-eye attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Strong interest in branding, video production, and/or art direction
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks;
- Self-starting, independent worker;
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals and best practices;
- Must be able to work with groups of diverse individuals in respectful, equitable, and inclusive ways
- Enthusiasm for the work of the Innocence Project and for social justice, including a demonstrated commitment to public interest; and
- Shares in the IP’s values of accountability, collaboration, empathy + compassion, equity, person-centeredness, quality focus, and self-awareness
