Job Title: General Manager
Location: Westlake Ohio (Crocker Park), USA

Position Overview: The General Manager will play a pivotal role in managing all facets of retail operations at the Ohio Westlake Location, requiring a versatile and hands-on approach. Key responsibilities encompass inventory management, product procurement, local engagements, regulatory compliance (CBD, Delta, etc.), staff management, budgeting, customer experience, and reporting.
Work Schedule: Monday - Sunday (2 days off)
Inventory schedule: Mondays
Reportees: Sales Associates
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the team of sales associates, ensuring exceptional customer service, safety, product quality, and security compliance within the store.
- Oversee inventory activities, including receiving and recording new products, moving products within the store, and monitoring supply levels to prevent shortages.
- Collaborate with Kerwell’s management team and work independently to manage store operations effectively; meet monthly.
- Interview and train new retail staff, holding them accountable for behavior, attendance, and discrepancies consistent with Kerwell policies and procedures.
- Reconcile retail cash, review and record cash drawer discrepancies, and oversee scheduling to ensure it stays within the weekly payroll budget.
- Serve as the scheduler and main point of contact for all employee scheduling requirements and needs.
- Schedule training and manage documentation of training and continuing education, maintaining consistent communication between the floor and management to ensure high work quality throughout the team.
- Conduct regular team meetings and weekly inventory checks, implement efficient control practices, initiate product reorders based on sales trends, and implement solutions for real-time inventory tracking and forecasting.
- Stay aware of ongoing local market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences, utilizing findings for strategic recommendations.
- Network with local businesses and stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and enforce SOPs to adhere to industry standards, conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with established procedures, and develop comprehensive training programs for staff.
- Conduct quarterly performance reviews, oversee day-to-day operations to maintain high standards of customer service and visual merchandising, and implement recognition and incentive programs to boost employee morale and productivity.
- Collaborate with the finance manager to conduct budget reviews and propose adjustments based on performance insights and local market conditions, implement data-driven promotional strategies to optimize profitability.
- Coordinate pricing, markdowns, and storage while generating regular reports on sales, inventory, and overall store performance.
- Work within Shopify, Shopify Apps, and our PM system (ASANA) to manage communications, products, upcoming promotions, and inventory.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, OR equivalent work experience.
- Proven track record of at least 5 years of industry related experience; minimum of 3 years (of the 5) in a leadership role.
- Experience in the wellness, CBD, or health-related retail industry is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency with Google Suite (Microsoft Office is okay too since they are similar tools)
- Experience working within a Project Management tool
