OVERVIEW OF ROLE

As a rapidly growing organization, we are looking for a dynamic, growth-oriented Controller. This role is intended for someone who can help transition company’s financial operations from an early-stage organization to a high-growth platform. We look for smart, reliable and capable people and provide them opportunities to reach their potential. This role will report to the Director of Finance & Corporate Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting

  • Work with external accounting team to ensure timely completion of month-end close process and oversight of accounts payable workstream
  • Suggest, develop & enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Help with workforce planning & optimizing the accounting function

FP&A

  • Lead goal setting and annual budgeting process
  • Establish routines around forecasting, for a multi-entity business

Audit & Tax Liaison

  • Liaise with accounting firms for audit & corporate tax engagements
  • Consider sufficiency of current accounting routines & internal controls to deliver on successful audit or tax engagements.
  • Propose solutions & demonstrate project management prowess by seeing this to completion.

New Systems Deployment

  • Evaluate technology options to drive efficiency & automation as company scales
  • Help migrate to a more robust ERP solution
  • Deploy FP&A tools that can deliver on requirements, keeping in mind the company’s growth plans

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a mix of public and private sector setting
  • Advanced knowledge and comfort with financial reporting and US GAAP
  • Prior experience in working with tax and audit firms, ideally liaising as the client representative to these professional firms
  • Strong project management & organizational skills
  • Analytical, and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Experience implementing new FP&A and ERP solutions is a plus, but not required

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance)
  • CPA designation
