Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Product Manager with a strong focus on spinal medical devices. The Product Manager will play a critical role in managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and market research to product development, launch, and post-launch activities. This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, sales, marketing, regulatory, and clinical teams to ensure the successful development and commercialization of innovative spine products that address the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and implement product strategies for the spine product portfolio, aligning with the company’s goals and market needs.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and identify key trends in the spine segment to guide product development.
  • Create business cases and product roadmaps, including revenue forecasting, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.
  • Product Development:
  • Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and clinical teams to define product specifications and ensure the successful design, development, and validation of new spine products.
  • Lead product development projects from concept to launch, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional resources.
  • Ensure products comply with regulatory requirements and maintain a deep understanding of FDA/CE approval processes for spine devices.
  • Market & Customer Insights:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), surgeons, and healthcare providers in the spine community to gather insights and validate product concepts.
  • Understand and anticipate the needs of spine surgeons and hospital decision-makers to influence product innovation and improvements.
  • Conduct product training, education, and support for sales teams and clinical stakeholders.
  • Commercialization & Product Launch:
  • Develop and execute launch plans for new spine products, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with marketing, sales, and operations teams.
  • Create and deliver marketing collateral, presentations, and sales tools to support product positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation.
  • Monitor post-launch performance, gather feedback from the market, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Portfolio Management:
  • Manage the lifecycle of existing spine products, including product enhancements, extensions, and discontinuation plans as necessary.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of product performance, customer satisfaction, and market penetration to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the competitive landscape and adjust strategies as needed to ensure market leadership in the spine segment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2-3 years specifically in the spine or orthopedic medical device industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of spinal surgery procedures, medical device development processes, and regulatory requirements (FDA, CE marking).
  • Proven experience managing the full product lifecycle, from conception to commercialization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel (up to 30%) to engage with customers, attend conferences, and support product launches.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working directly with spine surgeons and clinical staff to gather insights and feedback.
  • Familiarity with minimally invasive surgical techniques, spinal implants, biologics, or navigation technologies.
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in product management tools.
