Page 1 Job Description VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES Job title VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES Reports to President Job purpose The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for driving the company’s sales strategy, overseeing sales operations, and ensuring the achievement of revenue goals. This role requires a dynamic leader who can work cross-functionally, manage key relationships, and drive growth through effective planning and execution in both new market development and existing account management. Duties and responsibilities Sales Strategy and Planning: o Lead monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales meetings to set targets and review performance. o Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, product development, and customer success) to align sales initiatives with broader business goals. Sales Operations and Performance: o Monitor sales performance metrics and KPIs, implementing measures to improve productivity and effectiveness. o Provide regular sales forecasts, insights, and reports to senior management to support decision-making. o Prospect for new business opportunities and manage sales of existing accounts. New Market and Product Development: o Drive new market development through strategic product innovation, marketing efforts, and customer consultations, with a special focus on Alaska. o Work closely with local growers and the farming community to build relationships and advise on new product innovations. Industry and Customer Engagement: o Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility and generate leads. o Present monthly promotions and new products to customers, ensuring engagement and sales growth. Product-Specific Sales Responsibilities: o Fertilizer: Develop and modernize fertilizer formulas, focusing on bulk sales and new product innovation. o Feed: Sell to farm accounts, advise on nutritional value, and collaborate with feed mills on volume estimates. Order Management and Reporting: o Oversee the order process, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery, while resolving any issues related to orders. o Produce weekly sales reports, year-end summaries, and forecasts to track progress and ensure alignment with company goals. Quality Control and Compliance: o Oversee the company’s quality control program, ensuring adherence to all regulatory, food safety, and compliance processes.
