The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Business Analyst, Global Operations.

The Business Analyst, Global Operations provides operational support on optimizing our core business operations divisions, including Global People Support, Global Finance, Global Technology Services, and Global Legal, Governance, Risk, & Compliance. This role will be pivotal in enhancing our operational efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance through process mapping, data analysis, and strategic reporting.

This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to the Vice President, Global Operations and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.

Responsibilities:

Process Mapping, Design, and Improvement

  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive process maps for core business operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and recommend best practices for process enhancement.
  • Lead process improvement efforts within key operational areas identified by the Operations Council.

Balanced Scorecard Development

  • Design and implement a balanced scorecard framework to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational performance.
  • Ensure that data collection mechanisms are in place to populate the balanced scorecard effectively.
  • Work with key stakeholders to aggregate critical operational data to an enterprise-level.

Reporting and Data Management

  • Collaborate with the Workday, GTS, & Enterprise Strategy Office teams to establish reports and other data collection methods that provide actionable insights into operational activities.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards highlighting performance metrics and areas for strategic focus.

Operational Analysis & Strategic Recommendations

  • Analyze current operational activities to determine the current state of operational health and how much time and resources are going toward reoccurring operations.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to measure and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of operational divisions, including information flows and other key drivers of operational excellence.
  • Identify trends, issues, and opportunities using current & historical information to build toward providing predictive analysis and advise on appropriate interventions.
  • Provide analytical support and strategic recommendations to the VP of Global Business Operations and other senior leaders based on findings from process analyses and performance metrics.

Collaboration and Training

  • Work closely with various departments to facilitate communication and collaboration regarding operational initiatives and process improvements.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate staff on process mapping and the balanced scorecard methodology.

General Tasks

  • Participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, operations management, or a related role.
  • Proven experience in process mapping, operational analysis, and reporting. Experience in process design and process improvement preferred.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and process mapping software (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
  • Familiarity with balanced scorecard frameworks and performance measurement methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
