Job Description : The Senior Data Engineer will be an integral part of the Business Intelligence Partner Team supporting our customers Business Intelligence & Data Enablement (BIDE) platform. The Data Engineer is responsible for building and managing data integrations, data platforms (DataDB, AWS Redshift), and data reporting and visualization capabilities (Tableau, Business Objects, Alteryx). We are embarking on a new initiative to accelerate our maturity and enhance data availability in the cloud, specifically migrating our on-prem SQL Server data warehouse to AWS Redshift. This engagement involves two work tracks.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Build and manage data integrations to/from various data sources, including API and file-based batch ingestions, to SQL Server (2019), AWS S3, and Redshift using CData, dbt, SSIS, and Python.
  • Apply strong SQL skills to ensure efficient data handling and manipulation.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience with dimensional data modeling and best practices.
  • Schedule and orchestrate data workflows using Mulesoft, Control-M, Confluent Kafka, and Astronomer.
  • Instrument data integrations through robust monitoring (ScienceLogic) and data observability tools (Soda checks).
  • Implement automated CI/CD deployments using bitbucket, TFS, Jenkins, and Cloudbees.
  • Collaborate with the BI Data Movement (BIDM) team to support current projects and operational support roadmap.
  • Participate in upcoming projects, including ingestions from the Tiltify gaming platform, extending data integrations to our CDP (Salesforce Data Cloud), and ongoing data masking/obfuscation/deletions in support of new state privacy laws.
  • Engage in continuous betterment and technical debt remediation.
  • Work alongside current resources to ensure knowledge transfer (KT) of tools, processes, architecture, and standards.
Qualifications :
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in data integration and SQL.
  • Proficiency with dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience with scheduling and orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Knowledge of automated CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
