The Financial Planning and Analysis team is responsible for forecasting SAS's financial performance, analyzing trends, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making. We play a critical role in the budgeting process, variance analysis, and financial reporting, ensuring that the organization's financial goals align with its strategic objectives. By collaborating with various departments, the team helps drive efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall business performance

As an intern, you might:
  • Assist in Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Support the FP&A team in creating financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, helping to assess business performance against targets.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial data from various business units, providing insights and assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to support senior management decision-making.
  • Support Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, identify trends, and contribute to the strategic planning process, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals.
  • Ad-Hoc Financial Projects: Participate in ad-hoc projects such as cost analysis, pricing strategy reviews, and process improvements to streamline financial operations and reporting capabilities.

Required Qualifications
  • Students currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, and basic financial modeling) and familiarity with other Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) and key financial metrics.
  • Work Hours: Available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time hours during the summer of 2025.
  • You're curious, passionate, authentic, and accountable. These are our values and influence everything we do.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Leadership abilities. Your past experiences demonstrate you'll take initiative and go above and beyond the call of duty.
  • You're interested in the future of Analytics and embrace technology.
  • You're a college student enrolled in an accredited program, not graduating prior to December 2025.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship or coursework experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, providing a foundational understanding of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with financial software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Anaplan) to enhance data management and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to help present financial data effectively.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations (e.g., GAAP) to ensure compliance in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team objectives.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in finance or corporate analysis, demonstrating motivation and commitment to professional development in the field.

Internship dates: This is a year-round internship position that will start in May 2025 and continue on through the summer working full-time.

Pay Transparency: The hourly rate for SAS internships is determined by the applicant's year in school and the position they are hired into. Hourly rates range from $15 - $31 for associate's/bachelor's level positions and $29 - $49/hour for master's/Ph. D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonus.
