We are excited to announce a Business Development Opportunity in partnership with a high-performing consultancy specializing in the Utilities and Industrial sectors, with new ventures in Aerospace, Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $180,000
  • Commission: Year 1 On-Track Earnings: Minimum $250,000 with a target of $4 million in new business (top BDs are achieving $20+ million annually).
  • Commission Rate: 2% of sales.
  • Work Environment: Remote with travel to clients.

Role Overview:

This role is dedicated to new business acquisition, focusing on expanding client base by targeting new companies, particularly within the Duke Energy service areas, Southeast coops, and municipalities. Experience with selling into Duke is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the utilities sector.
  • Focus on acquiring new clients, with a primary target on Duke Energy.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and create strategic plans.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting and networking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including account managers and solutions executives, to ensure seamless integration of new clients.

  • Awarded an MSA for a $1BN portfolio with a Major Investor Owner Utility, covering Transmission, Distribution, and Substation scopes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Deep connections within Duke Energy.
  • Experience selling into Duke, preferably with background at companies like Burns & McDonnell and Pike.
  • Proven "hunter" mentality for acquiring new clients.
  • Focused on the Southeast, ideally located in the Carolinas.
  • Experience with coops and municipalities in addition to Duke Energy.
  • Target experience with FPL, Nextera is a plus.

Role Specifics:

  • Purely focused on new business, acquiring new logos and companies.
  • Not an account management role – purely business development.
  • Department includes new BD people, account managers, and solutions executives.
  • Sole contributor role with significant importance.
