The Director of Sales is a sales team leader and communicator responsible for the development, mentoring, and performance of sales representatives (Workplace Consultants). The Director of Sales focuses on sales team results in order to exceed sales volume and profit goals for all CI Business Divisions. The Director of Sales must be actively engaged in developing new business. Acts as a role model and authority with respect to the implementation of all CI policies and procedures with the objective of providing an engaging, positive, respectful, and productive work environment while meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations.

  • Engages the sales team on a day-to-day basis through leadership, communication, motivation, listening, and coaching to ensure Workplace Consultants exceed their stated goals/objectives.
  • Uses talent, experience, and creativity to help introduce best practices and innovative approaches to winning business.
  • Meets or exceeds the team's operational, profit, and customer service goals for all CI Business Divisions and portfolio of products and services.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully and develops alternative solutions.
  • Plans, develops, and executes strategic events to increase brand awareness, market share, and regional profitability.
  • Leads change and easily builds influence. Enhances morale and gains group commitments to achieve goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed and recognizes accomplishments.
  • Inspires and motivates others to perform well; consistently earns credibility, respect, and trust.
  • Directs activities related to lead identification, development and closing sales.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of CI’s Interwoven Story and related products and services.
  • Supervises and evaluates daily activities while providing advice, counsel, and guidance in the resolution of routine and complex problems.
  • Responsible for the creation of sales team’s development plans, training objectives, and career growth goals.
  • Develops team and individual communication, presentation, and sales skills; drives appropriate behaviors to ensure success.
  • Trains team on standard practices, policies, pricing, and products with support from other departments and vendors.
  • Trains sales team on how to establish new accounts by prospecting, networking, and cold-calling existing/potential sales outlets.
  • Instills discipline, corporate values, and a consistent as well as transparent sales process in assigned sales team.
  • Supervises sales team’s development and delivery of presentations and proposal responses.
  • Aligns sales team and customers to properly create/execute sales strategies, nurtures key relationships.
  • Creates and maintains relationships with key contacts at major accounts.
  • Responsible for developing high-level relationships with potential clients and client influencers.

  • Strong communication at all levels; ability to write and speak clearly, as well as informatively.
  • Must be forward thinking, adaptable, and a creative leader capable of strategic thinking, problem solving, and planning.
  • Proven hands-on leadership and management ability that demonstrates innovation, flexibility, and best-in-class attributes.
  • Motivational expertise—acts to inspire employees and consistently displays initiative towards profitable sales and margins.
  • Fluency and expertise in negotiation – understanding company service and product economics and possessing the ability to educate and guide staff in its execution
  • Understands the quality of a sale and can expertly teach and implement high quality sales philosophy and methodology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in forecasting, strategizing, and achieving market/sales objectives.
  • Highly detail oriented with solid organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Prioritizes workflow in a multi-task environment and has the ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines.
  • BA/BS in Business or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience with measurable success in leading a sales organization or sales team.
  • Excellent PC skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Outlook, and Hedberg.
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills.
  • Must be very comfortable with pricing and developing pricing strategies, as well as business cycle and budget management.
  • High ethical standards and ability to exercise good business judgment.
