Job Summary

The Product Owner at Lincoln Learning is a strategic role that requires a unique blend of business acumen, technical expertise, and agile leadership. This individual will be the driving force behind the product’s direction, growth, and success. This individual will be responsible for translating the strategic vision from the Executive team into actionable stories for the development team, ensuring that the product aligns with customer needs and company goals. They will also embody certain aspects of a Scrum Master, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master, or in a similar role within an agile framework
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e., Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems) – OR – equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles, agile methodologies, and lean principles
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage stakeholders’ expectations effectively
  • Expert knowledge of Productivity Software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile Productivity Software (i.e., Jira, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Act 153 and Act 168 Clearances

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with development teams in an EdTech environment
  • Certification in Product Ownership or Scrum Mastery is a plus
  • Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft 365 Cloud Technologies

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Communicate and align Executive product vision and goals to the development team and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Director & UI/UX Designer to align technical and product design with development team and stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain a product backlog that aligns with both product and technical vision, prioritizing according to business value.
  • Maintain and / or delegate user story / acceptance criteria creation & refinement.
  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Works with the development team, stakeholders, and leadership to identify and remove impediments.
  • Act as a point of contact for product-related inquiries.
  • Ensure the development team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on.
  • Monitor the progress of product development and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, positive work environment, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Embraces change, adjusting strategies and communications based on feedback, market shifts, emerging technology, and evolving priorities.
