Job Summary:

GovGig is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Federal Construction Quality Control Manager to oversee and ensure the quality of construction projects across various federal sites nationwide. This traveling position requires extensive travel to different project locations, where you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing quality control plans, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with all federal regulations, contract requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Quality Control Management: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control plans for federal construction projects, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.

- On-Site Inspections: Conduct regular and thorough inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to ensure adherence to approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, test results, and quality control measures. Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports to project managers and clients.

- Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as specific contract requirements. Address non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions promptly.

- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and federal representatives to communicate quality expectations, resolve issues, and ensure seamless project execution.

- Training & Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to on-site personnel on quality control processes and procedures. Mentor junior staff to develop their understanding and skills in quality management.

- Problem Resolution: Identify potential quality risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate these risks. Address any quality-related issues that arise during the course of construction.

- Travel Requirements: Travel extensively to various federal construction sites across the country to perform on-site quality control duties.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications in Quality Control or Construction Management are a plus.

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control, preferably within federal or government construction projects.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal construction regulations, standards, and procedures, including familiarity with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Quality Control System (QCS) and the Construction Quality Management (CQM) program.

- Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, CQM certification, and other relevant safety and quality control certifications are highly desirable.

- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively to various project sites nationwide.
