Robert Half is partnering with a Fortune 100 e-commerce enterprise, seeking a skilled Print Production Designer to join their packaging design team for a 12-month contract, with potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, print-ready artwork for packaging across a range of products, ensuring accuracy and consistency in a fast-paced production environment.

Location: San Fransisco, CA (hybrid-onsite 3 days/week)

Duration: 12 months

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $55-63/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt packaging artwork, ensuring alignment with established branding and packaging guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize design solutions and ensure smooth execution.
  • Assist in proofing processes, including reviewing both soft and hard proofs, ensuring final output meets quality standards.
  • Coordinate with external production vendors for print requirements and oversee press checks to ensure accuracy in execution.
  • Optimize digital images and assets for print, maintaining high-resolution quality and consistency.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of packaging style guides, ensuring scalable and reusable design systems.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and design integrity.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in print production, with a focus on packaging design.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign (5-6 years).
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, including experience with packaging.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
  • An online portfolio showcasing print and packaging design work (required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Photoshop retouching and color correction.
  • Hands-on experience conducting pre-press checks and working with production vendors.
  • Familiarity with automation, scripting, or generative AI for design processes.
  • Experience with multi-language artwork and international packaging standards.
  • Strong illustration skills and an ability to create scalable design solutions.
