What does a Media Coordinator do?

The Media Coordinator at BrandStar is responsible for the efficient management and organization of all media assets received from participants. This role involves categorizing, tagging, and verifying the integrity of footage from various sources to ensure seamless integration into BrandStar Originals (BSO) production workflow. The Coordinator will prepare Premiere Pro projects, manage storage solutions, assist with production tasks, and handle technical issues related to media assets. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and adept at multitasking in a dynamic production environment.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Efficiently manage and organize assets received from participants, including footage from memory cards, hard drives, and MASV uploads.
  • Manually categorize, tag, and verify the integrity of files, ensuring they are ready for integration into BSOs production workflow.

  • Retrieve and restore assets from LTO upon request and address any issues or troubleshoot LTO malfunctions.
  • Manage storage space on DropBox and create/manage MASV portals for producers.
  • Ensure BSO studio footage is correctly uploaded from the AJA (Audio/Video/Graphics Interface) to the server.
  • Prepare Premiere Pro projects and edit digital shorts, testimonials, tune-ins, and national segments.
  • Make internal and external revisions to edited segments and layer voiceovers into final productions.
  • Create 1080p versions of finalized BSO segments for social media and generate MP4 versions of all masters and submasters to free up server space.
  • Transfer raw footage onto hard drives and manage shipping to participants.
  • Maintain inventory of memory cards and hard drives, tracking check-outs, in-house quantities, and project assignments.

This position generally operates within the regular business hours of 8:30-5:30, Monday through Friday but must be flexible to work evenings and weekends based upon production schedule.
