Mainframe Developer

IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.

Our client is looking for a Mainframe Developer. The Mainframe Developer will be to provide expert level programming and analysis for the client Mainframe and distributed applications on special projects.

The project is a large/complex (1000+ program, 400+ table) MVS/COBOL/DB2/CICS system with additional .NET distributed applications. Successful candidates must have proven development experience in MVS/SAS/COBOL/CICS/DB2/TSO/JCL languages and also some Microsoft .NET Web development experience. The role requires experience with structured analysis and design, as well as an understanding of full Systems Development Life Cycle.

Tasks:

• Work as a programmer analyst and part of a team to develop and maintain applications.
• Scheduling, analysis, design, coding, testing, quality assurance, ad hoc reporting (SAS), development of user documentation, training materials and help screens.

NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. This position is currently remote. However, position status is subject to change.

Skills Required:

• 10 years - Experience in Technical Writing and Documentation
• 10 years - Experience with Application Development and Support of CICS/DB2/TSO/COBOL/SAS/JCL Mainframe Systems and also Microsoft .NET Application Development utilizing DB2 or similar relational database
• 3 years - Experience with Application Development and Support of IIS/ASP.NET/MVC/DB2/Oracle Server Based Systems
• 10 years - Databases – DB2 experience
• 10 years - Changeman and Control-M experience
• 10 years - CICS / COBOL experience
• 10 years - IT Technology - Skills and Concepts experience
• 5 years - SAS experience
• Experience / ability to identify and create test data, create and modify files and JCL to support validation/QA of system changes
• Experience using SQL, SPUFI, Platinum, File Manager, Debugger, QMF Tools or equivalent
• Experience completing Unit/Development Testing, Systems Testing, and Supporting User Acceptance Testi
