Key Responsibilities
- Monitors accounts receivable aging reports and identifies past due or over limit accounts.
- Contacts customers with past due accounts and attempts to collect the overdue amount or negotiate, within specified terms, an installment payment plan.
- Determines the capacity to increase customer credit limits within established policy by considering the customer's sales history and its future sales expectations, or by applying a seasonal credit policy adjustment.
- Evaluates on hold sales orders for ability to release or need to extend based on established credit guidelines.
- Collaborates cross functionally with sales representatives, customer service and others to resolve customer issues around non-payment. Maintains notes on decisions and actions taken for management review.
- Develops and maintains good relationships with assigned customers resulting in open dialogue and a sound financial affiliation.
- Prepares and submits regular reports to management and customers on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.
- Assists Accounts Receivable with posting of customer payments as needed.
- Performs special projects and assists others in support of the department.
What you will need to succeed:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of credit and collections experience, preferably in a business-to-business environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products necessary.
- Ability to establish and cultivate relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and comfortable making decisions within communicated parameters.
- Ability to evaluate alternatives and make appropriate judgements within established guidelines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task.
