  1. Make sure the webpage is open.
  2. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Security.
  3. Make sure the Enable JavaScript checkbox is selected.
  4. Click Websites.
  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Role - IOS Engineer

Location - This is a fully remote

Duration : 6 contract to hire position so candidates need to be able to convert without sponsorship.


WE had a couple interviews this week and the feedback was that they need to be stronger in Swift AND Swift UI. Some senior candidates were sent over to them, so they are expecting true senior level candidates that are very hands-on and strong in modern technologies.
See feedback from the manager below.

Candidate 1 - Overall lacking SwiftUI knowledge. She was the most proficient in iOS/Swift of three but didn't understand inner workings of fundamental concepts in iOS dev. Ex: asked her what diff between weak and optional type is - wasn't ablet to answer that. This is a basic concept that candidate should have

2- older iOS tech. needs someone who understands current tech stack. Had some knowledge of swiftUI but not proficient enough.

3 - experience is on his resume but doesn't seem to have fundamental knowledge. iOS and Swift experience was extremely light.

a. Project Scope:
i. Right now they have big initiative and they are trying to unify back end and front end architectures. This team handles all of the university mobile apps under SEI. They are modifying iOS and Android applications. The apps this team supports is used on iPhones and iPads.

b. High Level Individual Duties:
i. Troubleshooting any issues that is going on with iOS applications. Sometimes this involves working with other teams (ex: API team asked them to help verify network issues with the app. They were able to troubleshoot this with them, need to be able to think outside the box with other teams if there are various parts of the application that might be having issues, even if the root cause comes from outside of their work)
ii. Developing new features of iOS applications using Swift / Swift UI
c. Must Haves:
i. Swift
ii. SwiftUI
iii. Ability to use / understand Figma
iv. Cloud experience (they are using Google Cloud Platform so heavy preference will go towards candidates who have Google Cloud Platform experience)
v. Terraform
vi. GitLab to deploy code into cloud
d. What Will Win:
CI/CD familiarity
