DIRECT CLIENT: Project Manager

Location: Carson City, NV

Duration: 24+ months (extendable)

Rate: $doe W2/1099

  • A Project Manager if needed to manage and to modernize the internally developed applications The Project Manager will direct and manage the project for the planning and implementation of the client data modernization from beginning to end.
  • They will develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents in accordance with PMO standard templates.
  • They will estimate resources and participants needed to achieve the project goals, perform root-cause analysis on gaps, identify waste, and work with the project team to drive sustainable corrective action.
  • They will identify and resolve issues and conflict within the project team and program/project leads of project dependencies and critical path concerns.
  • This position will coordinate and plan scheduled project timelines and milestones (using appropriate tools) with software vendor, client, sister agencies as applicable, developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documents, and presentations. This position will also direct the activities of a Business Process Analyst that will support this project.

Scope of Work:

The incumbent will work with the identified the IT Application Development team, programs, program leadership, and IT manager to evaluate and implement technical solutions to business needs.

For the data modernization project, the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks (not all inclusive):

  1. Leads the project team to identify potential internally developed systems, build project scopes, goals, and deliverables for implementation of the data systems modernization of identified programs with established partners and vendors.
  2. For this data modernization implementation, tasks will include but are not limited to:
    1. Drive planning, estimating, and facilitating the coordination for designing, configuring, testing, training, analysis, and project implementation with Vendor(s), Vendor(s) staff, client Information Technology Office, client Program Project Lead, and client program subject matter experts, and all stakeholders.
    2. Manage scope, schedule and budget objectives.
    3. Identify, assess, and mitigate all project issues and risks.
    4. Facilitate meetings and confirm appropriate documentation is developed and stored in project repository.
    5. Manage change management and deliverable management process, assign deliverables as appropriate, and validate appropriate processes and approvals are being captured.
    6. Lead the project team in successfully completing user acceptance, regression, unit, and end-to-end testing with internal and external stakeholders.
    7. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
    8. Develop status reports to internal and external stakeholders weekly following established PMO guidelines.
