Equity Research Analyst, Biotechnology

This role is regulated by FINRA.

As a Barclays Equity Research Analyst, Biotechnology, you will be accountable for analyzing industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of the Biotechnology Senior Analyst. You will enjoy a diverse range of work and expand your experience as you prepare research reports that vary in size and scope.

To be successful as an Equity Research Analyst, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree and PhD or MD is required; corporate strategy experience in healthcare is required and relevant experience in sell side Equity Research is preferred
• Knowledge of equity research content and solid experience with stakeholder management skills
• Good verbal and written communicator who enjoys collaborating with others with exemplary interpersonal skills
• Good financial experience including financial modeling, financial statement analysis and supporting large data sets will help you excel in this role

Some other highly valued skills include:

• This role requires FINRA licensing: SIE, S63, S86, S87, however, if you are not registered, we will offer sponsorship that will allow you to achieve this
• CFA Level 1 is highly preferred
• Your analytical and problem-solving skills and a resourceful, entrepreneurial spirit will help you work effectively in our team environment
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail

Minimum Salary: 125,000

Maximum Salary: 175,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To produce and deliver Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients.

Accountabilities

• Analysis of market, sector, corporate and/or economic data to help develop investment theses for your coverage universe to produce best in class Research.
• Research may range from individual company or sector notes, through to long dated thematic reports.
• Presentation of Research views to Barclays Clients; this can be through direct, face to face and virtual interactions, Research hosted events and written communications.
• Engagement with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders, to raise awareness of your Research both to Clients and internally. Prioritise interaction with the most relevant and valuable Clients for your Research.
• Provision of insights and Research views to internal Clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
• Collaboration with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to ensure Research is produced and delivered to Clients and internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.
