Position Description:

The Manufacturing and Quality (MQ) Tech at Lilly organization is engaged in an exciting phase of transformation as we drive our Digital Plant vision across Lilly manufacturing at the same time supporting unprecedented growth in Lilly's manufacturing operation across the world.

The Associate Director - Digital Strategy Portfolio for Manufacturing & Quality (MQ) Tech at Lilly team will play a crucial role in overseeing and aligning multiple programs to ensure they meet their intended objectives, timelines, and impacts. This role requires a deep understanding of each program's goals and how they connect with others across the portfolio. Additionally, the Associate Director identifies inter-dependencies and ensures seamless integration between various initiatives. By proactively managing potential disconnects, cross-connections, and resource exchanges, they drive cohesive execution across the organization, balancing strategic priorities with practical deliverables to maximize value. This position is vital for ensuring all programs are aligned with the overall MQ Digital Strategy and deliver desired outcomes efficiently.

How You'll Succeed
  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with MQ Digital Strategy.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each initiative's goals, timelines, impacts, and interdependencies with other initiatives.
  • Monitor and track initiative progress to ensure adherence to timelines, budget, and desired outcomes.
  • Identify interdependencies across initiatives, proactively managing cross-connections and potential disconnects.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between initiative teams to ensure resource sharing and knowledge transfer where needed.
  • Assess and manage risks/issues related to initiative integration, offering solutions to resolve any conflicts or roadblocks.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to balance competing priorities and ensure efficient execution of initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate portfolio execution review meetings and ensure follow up on actions
  • Ensure appropriate and effective governance in place for all initiatives and work with project teams and leadership resolve any issues
  • Proactively assessstrategic and capability gaps / opportunities across all initiatives and work with leadership to driveimprovement
  • Ensure meaningful measurement on key questions to help drive the business outcomes and better serve our business partner.
  • Regularly report on portfolio performance, highlighting key achievements, risks, and any adjustments to maintain alignment with overall strategy.

What You Should Bring
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, cross-functional technical projects and programs.
  • Proven ability to align projects with organizational goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, manage trade-offs, and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and influence without direct authority.

Additional Preferences:
  • PMP, PgMP or other equivalent certifications
  • Experience in IT in health care, pharma or life sciences is a plus

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, project management and/or Master of Business Administration, or related field
  • 7-8+ years of experience in program or portfolio management, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing multiple technical projects.
