Position Summary

As the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer (CSOO) for Smith Packett, Wessex Capital Investments, and Harmony Senior Services, you will be responsible for working closely with the ownership to improve and align the current business operations of our operating companies and revise them to achieve the company’s long-term vision. This role will be pivotal in overseeing and optimizing the company’s transformation and operations to drive growth and profitability. You will work closely with ownership and other key stakeholders to develop and execute short- and long-term strategies that align with our business objectives.

The role of the CSOO is to steer the Company toward the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission, and long-term goals. The CSOO will work with leadership to implement creative business ideas and review data to monitor progress across all business initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in operational management, business development, and fostering a high-performance culture. Experience in real estate, senior communities and/or healthcare, and capital/debt management is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing strategic initiatives and strengths in marketplace positioning to identify areas of improvement and potential competitive advantages.
  • Apply effective frameworks and key metrics to evaluate an organization's readiness to scale its operations, considering factors such as resources, infrastructure, and market demand.
  • Analyze the organization's readiness and preparedness to undergo transformative changes while evaluating the building blocks necessary to create a sustainable long-term strategic growth plan.
  • Providing expert guidance and leadership to ownership on all matters relating to strategic planning and execution
  • Identify strategic risks and help to reduce these risks.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement, develop action plans, and lead change management initiatives.
  • Establish performance metrics and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and success of operational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners to drive collaboration and business growth.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Operating Officer, or similar executive leadership role.
  • Experience in real estate, senior communities and/or healthcare, and debt management is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies that drive business growth and profitability.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify problems, evaluate options and execute solutions.
  • Time management skills to manage the timeline of the strategic initiatives.
  • Quality-control analysis skills to conduct the testing of products and services.
  • Finance management skills to figure out the amount of money needed to execute the initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
