Job Description

ForTec Medical is seeking an IT Product Owner to be based out of our Home Office in Hudson, Ohio, two to three times per week and additionally as needed. The IT Product Owner serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders and the IT development team, ensuring the delivery of technology solutions that meet business needs. This position is responsible for defining the product vision and managing the product roadmap and backlog. The IT Product Owner will also gather and define requirements in collaboration with the operations, sales, finance, and HR teams.

  • Develop and manage a product roadmap that reflects business goals and priorities.
  • Continuously update the roadmap based on business needs, technology advancements, and user feedback.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, sales, finance, and HR to ensure buy-in on the roadmap and product direction.
  • Define detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements that align with the product vision.
  • Ensure the backlog reflects new feature development and continuous improvement efforts, including addressing technical debt.
  • Work with development teams to clarify requirements and prioritize work for upcoming sprints or releases.
  • Balance long-term roadmap goals with short-term deliverables to ensure timely and effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure a clear understanding of the product vision, roadmap, and backlog priorities.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives to guide the development process.
  • Work with the development manager to ensure that sprints align with the product roadmap and blockers are removed.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and work closely with QA to ensure product quality.
  • Regularly assess product performance, gather feedback, and update the backlog and roadmap accordingly.
  • Maintain up-to-date product documentation, including feature descriptions, release notes, and roadmap updates.
  • Provide training materials and support documentation for end users.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role, with hands-on experience managing product roadmaps and backlogs.
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, JIRA).
  • Proven experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and product management best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, finance, HR, and development.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes as needed.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Team player willing to do what is needed to support the organization and its customers
