Ethos Engineering, LLC is a locally-owned structural, geotechnical, and roadway design firm seeking a Structures Group Manager or a Senior Structural Engineer with aspirations of becoming a Structures Group Manager to join our Team!

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing horizontal structures; managing structural projects, budgets, and schedules; and mentoring and training staff. Structural design includes the design of bridges and miscellaneous structures (roadway, drainage, flood control, traffic) and walls (retaining and sound walls). The ideal Structures Group Manager should be an experienced technical leader, a project and personnel manager with a strong engineering background, and a proven history of relationships in the transportation market.

Professional Responsibilities:

  • Leads the analysis/design, review, and quality control of various structural assignments
  • Develop reports, specifications, drawings, and related documents for transportation and drainage-related structures to meet client requirements
  • Review construction documents such as shop drawings or contractor requests
  • Perform site visits to assess existing structures
  • Provide technical support to construction teams
  • Prepare cost proposals
  • Provide technical guidance to entry level engineers
  • Travel within Arizona to project sites

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural design is required

  • Arizona Professional Engineer Civil License is required
  • Minimum 10+ years of advanced experience working as a structural design engineer on transportation projects
  • Experience with design and plan development
  • Detail-oriented with strong skills in steel and concrete design
  • A broad understanding of transportation structural engineering principles is required
  • Experience that demonstrates successful structural design and management projects
  • Design experience with AASHTO and other relevant codes and standards
  • Proficiency with Microstation, LEAP Software, Mathcad, MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to guide structural team as a technical design resource, foster leadership growth within team environment, and manage scheduling of department members
