Job Summary

The Vice President of Operations provides strategic leadership, direction, and ongoing support for procedural operations (inclusive of surgery, endoscopy, cath lab and EP lab), respiratory therapy, and lab services. The role includes responsibility for developing and implementing overall department strategy, including growth, team development, provider & staff engagement, financial performance, budget planning, and contracting with vendors & physicians. This leader will have a great deal of interaction with many service line medical directors and will need to excel at building strong relationships with providers and staff. The Vice President of Operations is the primary linkage between CoxHealth Hospitals, Cox Medical Group, IT, Finance, Nursing, and Supply Chain. CoxHealth is a six hospital system and the Vice President of Operations will support these departments across the system. The hospitals within CoxHealth range from the largest hospital being a level 1 trauma, Stemi, and stroke center, and the two smallest hospitals being critical access hospitals.

Job Requirements

Education

Required: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field

Experience

Required: At least 5 years’ leadership experience

Skills

Must be able to work effectively with staff, public and external agencies.

Must have the ability to take initiative and to exercise good judgment and decision-making

Problem solving

Critical thinking, conflict management, negotiation and Personnel development
