The R&D Lab Technician will support R&D Department functions by collecting samples, performing testing, documenting and communicating results, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. What you will do:

  • Play a key role in laboratory functions such as DNA extraction, RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, capillary sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing
  • Generate clear and concise technical reports
  • Execute experimental strategy developed by manager
  • Interact with senior laboratory personnel to review progress and present results
  • Maintain laboratory, cleaning, maintenance, and safety per SOPs
  • Revise and update SOPs, as needed
  • Follow established company SOP and ISO 9001 Guidelines

What you will need:

  • BS or MS degree in a life science area
  • 2+ years previous molecular biology laboratory or equivalent experience
  • Experience or knowledge of workflows with DNA & RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and NGS
  • Able to obtain half face respirator certification upon hire
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs

Omega Bio-tek’s headquarters are located in Norcross, Georgia, about 25 miles outside of downtown Atlanta. We own and operate a 38,000 ft2 facility. We offer products for manual and automated processing and we support our customers by having Hamilton Microlab STAR, Beckman Coulter Biomek FX, and Thermo KingFisher instruments in-house.
