For the expansion of our Business Information Systems (BIS) team, argenx is looking for an Associate Director level Data Management Specialist with a focus on Medical Affairs and Real World Evidence (RWE) data.

This role is the product owner of Medical Affairs Data Product and is an integral part of the global Data and Analytics community. The Medical Affairs Data Product is a data and analytics solution that integrates information from Field Medical, Medical Information, Scientific Communication and other Medical Affairs and RWE sources.

This role will work closely with analytics product owners in understanding present and future analytical needs in the medical affairs domain, and implementing data solutions using external and internal partners that meet these needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • As the owner of the Medical Affairs data product, develop and implement a roadmap of data projects that will support the needs of Medical Affairs and HEOR teams. The areas include, but not limited to, medical field engagement, scientific communications, medical information, evidence generation and RWE
  • Work as part of the Data and Analytics (DnA) community in implementing solutions in the Snowflake environment that enables quantitative analytics of Medical and Scientific engagement with key stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Medical Affairs and HEOR teams in the definition of business KPIs. Responsible for ensuring that the data is available and accurate for the calculation of the business KPIs
  • Identify, implement and manage analytical solutions for qualitative analytics and evidence generation
  • Collaborate with the Medical Affairs Analytics Lead in the operational reporting and analytical needs of the organization
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to the data engineering vendors and performing QA on the vendor deliverables including data sets and reports
  • Conduct frequent audits to ensure accuracy of data supporting
  • Participate in global data management projects and initiatives

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8-10 years working either in a biopharmaceutical company or a consulting organization with focus on the life sciences sector
  • Minimum 5 years working in a data analyst capacity
  • Strong knowledge of and experience working with medical affairs data sets including but not limited to MSL field engagements and KOLS surveys, Medical Information Requests, KOL sentiments, Scientific Communications, Evidence Generation and RWE
  • Experience working with data from Veeva CRM, Veeva Align, Salesforce ServiceCloud, Datavision required
  • Very strong hands-on experience in SQL data queries, data validation and reconciliation are required
  • Hands on experience in Snowflake or AWS based data warehouses in required
  • Knowledge of Data Governance principles and concepts is preferred
  • Understanding of the industry landscape and global regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP, HIPAA. GDPR, etc..)
