What we are looking for:

The IT Service Desk Specialist will be an integral part of the IT team, responsible for supporting new hires during their onboarding process, ensuring their devices and accounts are properly set up, and provide assistance during offboarding. You will help maintain the functionality of company equipment, including setting up laptops and troubleshooting hardware or software issues. Additionally, the ideal candidate should have basic scripting and automation experience using Python or PowerShell to enhance internal processes and optimize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Onboarding & Offboarding:Coordinate with HR and managers to ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes. Set up user accounts, emails, and laptops for new hires. Ensure all equipment is returned and accounts deactivated for offboarding employees.
  • Laptop & Equipment Setup:Set up and configure laptops, install required software, and ensure hardware is working properly. Provide remote and onsite support for hardware issues, including troubleshooting and basic repairs.
  • Basic Scripting & Automation:Write and modify basic scripts using Python or PowerShell to streamline routine tasks, such as account creation, software installation, and system updates. Help automate other IT workflows to reduce manual intervention.
  • Technical Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve Level 1 and Level 2 IT issues related to hardware, software, and networking. Escalate complex problems to direct manager or other IT team members.
  • IT Asset Management:Track and manage IT assets, ensuring all devices are accounted for and up to date. Assist in inventory management and software license tracking.
  • Documentation:Create and maintain detailed documentation for technical processes, scripts, and IT procedures.

Who You'll Work With:

As part of the IT team, you'll collaborate closely with HR, managers, and other departments to ensure a seamless employee experience. You'll be the go-to person for any onboarding or technical issues, working alongside a motivated and solution-oriented IT team that values communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with onboarding/offboarding processes and IT equipment setup
  • Basic scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-first attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Role Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT Service Desk or similar role
  • Experience with Python or PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and basic repairs
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, etc.) are a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Majority of time will be spent in an office environment with prolonged sitting at a desk/table, using a computer.
  • Carry on a conversation and performing work in an open environment with some background noise.
  • A moderate amount of time will be spent in a warehouse environment and could have varying temperatures.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling and lifting objects up to 40 lbs.
