AAM is a world leader in the manufacture, engineering, validation and design of driveline systems, chassis systems and forged products for trucks, buses, sport utility vehicles, passenger cars, and commercial vehicles.
We are searching for a CAD Designer Co-op to contribute to our product engineering group within our Driveline organization. This position is based out of our Advanced Technology and Development center in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Description
  • Design by using NX CAD system
  • Model simple or complex parts and assemblies as well as dependent components
  • Apply GD&T for both assemblies and dependent components with Engineering guidance
  • Develop new designs and re-designs, using internal or external prints, models, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Perform max/min tolerance stack-ups with Engineering guidance.
  • Customer data management
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education
  • Must have completed basic design and CAD coursework.
  • NX and CATIA knowledge/experience required.
  • Enrolled in a 2 or 4 year degree program in an accredited college or university with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) Program preferred.
  • Available 35-40 hours/week.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
