POSITION: Technology, Engineering and Design Instructor

REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor or Administrator

STARTING DATE: 2024-2025 School Year

SALARY: TBD- (based on experience and salary scale)

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time (185 days)

JOB OBJECTIVE:

Auburn Career Center is currently seeking a full time Technology Engineering and Design Instructor who will be responsible for providing quality standards-based instruction in the areas of engineering, robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing. The instructor assesses and encourages student progress and manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement with a focus on the engineering design process, problem-solving techniques, and operating a variety of robotic systems and automated equipment used in modern industrial and commercial applications.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor s degree or higher (preferred) in a relevant field, such as Robotics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science

  • 3-5 years + of experience working with industrial robots, automated systems, and/or programming in languages such as Python, C++, or PLC ladder logic

  • Proficiency in technical tools and software (e.g. CAD, CAM, coding languages)

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair robotic and automated equipment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, industry partners, and the broader school community

  • Enthusiasm for staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the robotics and automation industries

  • Ability to engage and inspire students in a diverse learning environment

  • Experience with project-based learning and hands-on instruction

  • Effective communication and classroom management skills
