Job Summary: Entry Level Survey Technician (Office) primary duties are for field data preparation and data processing post-survey. Survey technologies used but not limited to hydrography, UAS (drone), land, and other remote sensing datasets. This individual will serve a key function in providing support with a variety survey projects, processing field data and information related to the preparation of data deliverables (3D models, imagery, CAD, and other file types).

Job Responsibilities

  • Support survey crews in field data preparation;
  • Setup projects for drone, remote sensing, scanning survey technologies;
  • Assist with office tasks including, but not limited to lidar processing, photogrammetry analysis, CAD drafting, data download, map research;
  • Remain current on surveying practices, data workflow, and best management practices; attend internal training and external lectures to expand knowledge and skills; and
  • Occasionally accompany field crews on site visits for drone, remote sensing, scanning survey projects.
  • High school diploma;
  • 1 year of related technical experience;
  • Computer fluency;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
  • Background screening which may include, but is not limited to: employment verification, driving record check, drug analysis, criminal background.
  • Any experience with surveying data processing, drones, photo/video editing, survey instrumentation and/or other data collection would be favorable.
