Description:

This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing company that provides artificial intelligence systems and software engineering services and solutions to DoD clients. We seek someone to manage, shape, and grow our Artificial Intelligence services business area. Our AI business is rapidly growing and includes an existing contract with a key Secretary of Defense organization to rapidly identify, develop, and test, via regular live combat command exercises, AI products, and technologies to support specific warfighting requirements. This role will work with IDS's senior, experienced military operations experts to provide technical expertise and develop AI solutions to support mission requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consulting, particularly with a mid-to-large- consulting company servicing DoD and federal government clients, and a proven track record of operating and growing services business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the services practice strategy, including defining service offerings, target markets, and growth initiatives.
  • Client Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business challenges and objectives, and providing strategic guidance on applying software products and technologies to solve their problems.
  • Business Development: Drive business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and leading sales pursuits to win new projects and accounts.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the successful delivery of consulting projects, ensuring high-quality results, client satisfaction, and adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Team Management: Build and mentor a high-performing team of consultants, providing leadership, guidance, and support to foster professional growth and development.
  • Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and share insights and thought leadership internally and externally through whitepapers, blogs, and presentations.
  • Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the services practice, including revenue forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) a bonus.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in consulting, with a focus on software products, solutions, and technologies.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a major consulting company, with a track record of operating and growing services practices.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in business development, sales, and client relationship management.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, and best practices in consulting and technology implementation.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in chasing and delivering technical services to DoD and federal government clients.
  • Live within the National Capital Region.
  • Top Secret Clearance is a bonus.
