Job Title: Technical Program Manager Privacy, Compliance, and Audit Functions

Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite Preferred) or Remote (PST Time Zone)

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager with proven expertise in privacy, compliance, and/or audit functions, combined with a product and data-driven mindset. This role is focused on developing and executing internal program strategies while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. You will work across diverse teams, manage dependencies, and drive execution, either through influence or direct intervention.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a strategic problem-solving approach, and the ability to navigate and collaborate across complex, distributed teams. You should be comfortable deep diving into new product functionality and understanding its impact on existing policies, designs, and systems. Strong written communication skills are essential for articulating issues, trade-offs, risks, and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cross-functional teams, including internal exempt, matrixed employees, and contractors, to deliver system enhancements that meet specified requirements.
  • Define and manage project scope, gather and document requirements, estimate timelines, and develop and track project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide comprehensive project status reports, manage risks, and plan contingencies.
  • Facilitate alignment among product managers, privacy stakeholders, legal teams, and engineering in a timely manner.
  • Track and document product proposals, status updates, and key decisions, ensuring they are effectively communicated and implemented across the organization.
  • Collaborate with legal and privacy product teams to evaluate, evolve, and create program controls and protocols.
  • Provide guidance to product, business, and engineering teams on complying with privacy programs, translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions for product development.
  • Promote automation and compliance by design, leveraging a user-first mindset.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expertise in project estimation, scheduling, tracking, and stakeholder management in large organizations.
  • Proven team leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to adapt and exercise judgment in dynamic environments, managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong risk assessment skills and the ability to apply management principles to technology and business functions.
  • Experience delivering solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform environment.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with privacy policies, regulations, or related fields such as privacy or technology law.
  • Experience in launching external-facing products and managing 3rd party developer platforms.
  • Compliance expertise, including conducting internal/external reviews and ensuring adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Regulatory knowledge with a focus on control systems to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
  • Technical expertise in Data Life Cycle Management, Dashboarding, Data Analysis, SQL, and Database Management.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
