Job Title: Technical Program Manager (Remote PST West Coast)

Location: Remote (Must be available to work in PST hours)

Summary:
The primary function of the Technical Program Manager is to oversee the definition, implementation, and delivery of complex programs that require cross-functional collaboration and management of interdependencies across multiple projects. The role ensures that the programs are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards while managing risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead programs within defined scope, quality, time, and budget, addressing moderate-probability, moderate-impact risks.
  • Engage in strategic planning at the program level, working closely with executive management.
  • Resolve complex issues, drive team collaboration, and foster effective communication.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including internal employees and contractors, to deliver system enhancements and meet project requirements.
  • Oversee project scope, gather requirements, estimate time, and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Provide comprehensive project status reports, address risks, plan contingencies, and ensure effective communication across multiple organizational levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in project estimation, scheduling, tracking, and customer interaction in large organizations.
  • Strong team management and people skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead teams effectively.
  • Proven flexibility in managing competing priorities and making judgment calls in a changing environment.
  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand business processes and collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strong risk assessment and management abilities, especially regarding technology products and business applications.
  • Experience in delivering large-scale, multi-platform technology solutions.
  • Background in the software development lifecycle, with familiarity in memory or testing, such as AOSP programming.
  • Previous experience as a developer, QA engineer, software engineer, software test manager, or quality program manager preferred.
  • Must have a blend of technical and management experience, not just traditional project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • MBA or advanced degrees in a related field are highly desirable.
  • Candidates with a strong technical background who have not exclusively worked in virtual reality (VR) roles are preferred.
