Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the core laboratory, ensuring optimal performance and quality service.
  • Assess and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, maintaining inspection readiness at all times.
  • Manage employee-related functions including recruitment, performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions, with necessary approvals.
  • Develop staffing plans to ensure efficient coverage and high-quality service during employee absences.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of test results, reporting, and overall laboratory performance metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by monitoring workflows and delegating responsibilities effectively.
  • Participate in the laboratory quality improvement initiatives, evaluating key performance indicators and financial metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 6 years of clinical laboratory experience is required.
  • Current Florida Supervisor license in Chemistry is necessary, along with certification from a recognized laboratory certifying agency, such as ASCP.
