At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and specialists, you will be responsible for developing and supporting the New Glenn rocket assembly processes. New Glenn is a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads routinely to Earth orbit and beyond. Featuring a reusable first stage built for 25 missions, New Glenn will build a road to space. You will directly support New Glenn's as well as Blue Origin's success by leading the development of the manufacturing bill of materials, work instructions, design for manufacturability, non-conformance processing, and process specifications. Including creating, interpreting, and modifying work instructions to convey procedures to technicians and trigger material planning. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will also identify, develop, and deploy methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequences and schedules.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the operations required for: fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
  • Closely manage quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process.
  • Develop and release Process Control Documents (PCDs) that enable production to meet design definition.
  • Define and support repair and rework activities.
  • Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.
  • Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build and test process.
  • Perform process mapping to identify improvements and drive high rates of production.
