Job Description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator II to join our IT department. The successful candidate will install, maintain, and optimize operating systems and associated software, ensuring stable and efficient performance across our company's network. This role operates in a hybrid workplace, offering a mix of on-site and remote work in Bloomington, MN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain operating systems and software to guarantee high levels of performance and stability.
  • Evaluate system specifications for hardware and software compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot networking and operating system issues as they arise.
  • Develop familiarity with shell and kernel-level programming to meet specific system requirements.
  • Research and implement innovative and automated approaches for system administration tasks.
  • Handle basic issues independently and escalate complex problems to senior staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in an infrastructure support role, ideally in a technical leadership position.
  • Strong experience supporting a multi-location enterprise environment of 2000+ users.
  • Proficiency in managing server and directory services, including Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware, Exchange, Office365 Suite, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with hardware systems like Dell Server, Cisco UCS, and EMC Data Protection Suite.
  • Knowledge of public and private cloud management, preferably AWS.
  • Familiarity with IT governance, project planning, and multi-platform technological solutions.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell or VBScript are a plus.
