Mine Operations Shift Supervisor / Dispatch

POSITION PURPOSE

Reporting to the Dispatch Specialist, the Mine Dispatcher is focused on operating the dispatch system for the mine to optimize production.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures
• Works as a strong collaborating member of the team on shift
• Manage efficient usage of the fleet management system
• Cleanup Files and bench lines on loading units to ensure not over digging
• Drill Sequence Monitoring
• Ensure there are no inconsistent cycles by the end of a shift
• Fatigue monitoring alert monitoring
• Get the right cleanup files on equipment
• Get the right patterns on drills
• Maintain a good quality mine model
• Maintaining and auditing MineStar system day-to-day
• Make sure correct ore control is on loading units
• Minimizing queue time on trucks
• Minimizing wait to dump time
• Monitoring Pit Slope Stability Radars
• Technology system reporting issues
• Tracking up and down time of dewatering system and pumps
• Supervising pit as required
• Behaves in a way that demonstrates support of Capstone s Core Values
• Other duties as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

• Quick learner with proactive mindset.
• Mindset of continuous improvement.
• Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system.
• Basic network understanding and experience.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Key Competencies / Skills

• At least 3 - 7 years of mining operations experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.
• Prior exposure to mine dispatching software and hardware is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• This role is generally 90% office environment and 10% field environment.
• Must have ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.
• Must have ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
