The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services’ (Iowa HHS) Division of Compliance, Bureau of Human Resources and General Business Services is seeking a Workforce Development Manager (Human Resources Professional 1).

Summary

This position will manage the department's in-house training and education program for employees by providing leadership for workforce development initiatives and the department's compliance in meeting standards related to workforce assessment and a workforce development plan. They will also coordinate and conduct new employee orientation and the new supervisor mentorship program.

Responsibilities

Assist the workforce development coordinator and work across all divisions, bureaus and offices in the department. Assist agency staff in meeting standards related to workforce assessment and a workforce development plan. Assist with the coordination and management of the departments new supervisor mentorship program. Assist with coordination of new employee departmental orientation.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.
